1. Introduction

Welcome to MapleSprout ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our website and services (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Platform.

2. About the Platform

MapleSprout is a fan-made community tool for MapleStory Universe (MSU) players. We provide features including:

• Viewing detailed character information such as stats, equipment, skills, and other attributes
• Character comparison and build planning tools
• Simulators for character optimization
• A Player Rating system to leave and view structured feedback based on in-game interactions
• A Guild "Hall" for out-of-game guild recruitment and management
• Leaderboards and rankings based on character stats
• Custom item creation and build sharing with the community
• Market item visualization and customized try-on simulations
• Character search and discovery

Our Platform utilizes data from the MapleStory Universe (MSU) public API and is subject to MSU's Terms of Use. Data accuracy depends on the availability and accuracy of the MSU API.

3. Third-Party Data and Intellectual Property

MapleStory Intellectual Property: MapleStory, MapleStory Universe, and all related game assets, characters, logos, and trademarks are the property of Nexon Co., Ltd. and/or NEXPACE Limited. This Platform is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nexon or NEXPACE.

MSU API Data: Character data, item information, and other game-related data displayed on this Platform are retrieved from the MapleStory Universe API and are subject to MSU's policies and data governance.

Fair Use: We use game assets and data for informational and community purposes consistent with fair use principles and MSU's developer guidelines.

4. User Responsibilities

By using our Platform, you agree to:

• Use the Platform only for lawful purposes
• Provide accurate information when creating an account
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, exploit, or abuse the Platform
• Not abuse the Player Rating system (e.g., review brigading, submitting fake/irrelevant evidence URLs, or filing fraudulent disputes)
• Not use the Platform to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Not upload, link to, or create content that is offensive, sexually explicit (NSFW/porn), excessively violent (gore), illegal, or infringes on others' rights
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Respect the intellectual property rights of Nexon, NEXPACE, and other third parties

5. Accounts and Wallet Linking

You may create an account using email/password, third-party OAuth providers (Google, Discord, Twitter/X), or blockchain wallet authentication (SIWE). You may link multiple wallets to your account, with one wallet designated as the primary wallet.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, associated passwords, and wallet credentials. We do not have access to your private keys and cannot recover lost wallet access. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

6. User-Generated Content and Media

Content You Create: You may create custom items, builds, guild profiles, and other content on the Platform. You retain ownership of the creative aspects of your content, but by posting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and allow other users to view and save your content.

Content Sharing: Builds and custom items you create may be visible to and saveable by other users. Other users may save and use your builds/items for their own planning purposes.

Uploaded Media & Guild Images: You are solely responsible for any images (e.g., Guild logos, banners) or text you upload or submit. You must ensure you have the legal right and copyright to use them. While we reserve the right to monitor and review uploaded content, we do not manually pre-screen every submission and rely on both our own periodic checks and community reporting to identify inappropriate material. We disclaim all liability for user-submitted media.

Third-Party Links (Evidence URLs): Our rating system heavily involves user-submitted external evidence URLs (such as YouTube, Twitch, Imgur). MapleSprout does not endorse, control, or assume any responsibility for the content, security, or privacy policies of these third-party links. By clicking these community-submitted links, you do so at your own risk.

Content Removal: We reserve the right to remove or shadow-hide any content, images, or links that violate these Terms (including NSFW, gore, or malicious links) or are otherwise objectionable, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

7. Leaderboards, Guilds, and Player Ratings

Leaderboards: By linking your wallet and characters to the Platform, your character information (including name, stats, level, job, guild, and combat power) may appear on public leaderboards and be searchable by other users. This data is derived from the MSU API and reflects your in-game progress.

Player Ratings: The Platform provides a moderation-free rating system based on user interactions. Ratings are permanently tied to your account and wallet. Reviews for unclaimed wallets are stored indefinitely and will automatically apply to your account upon registration; there is no "clean slate" system. Disagreements must be handled through the built-in dispute and counter-evidence mechanisms.

Character Transfers: Character ratings remain bound to the specific character asset key. If you purchase or transfer a character, its historical ratings under previous owners will remain visible for transparency, though they will not affect your current account score.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) $50 USD.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MapleSprout and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Sprout Rewards Program

No Cash Value: Sprout Points have no guaranteed monetary value and are awarded only for eligible NFT purchases completed via MapleSprout affiliate links. Sprout Points cannot be redeemed for cash under any circumstances.

Session Rules: Purchases must be completed within 1 hour of clicking the link. You must generate a new link for EVERY individual item you purchase. Buying multiple items from a single link session will only reward the first item. Only one reward is granted per session URI.

Eligible Items: Only NFT purchases qualify. Fungible Token (FT) purchases are excluded.

Wallet Match: The wallet used on MSU must strictly match your MapleSprout wallet that is either linked to your MapleSprout account or manually input. The same wallet address must be used on both platforms for the transaction to be eligible.

Tracking Liability: MapleSprout is solely responsible for point attribution on our platform, but we are not liable for MSU-side tracking errors, invalid sessions, or wallet mismatches. Points are credited based on MapleSprout's own tracking records, cross-referenced against the MSU Affiliate API.

Unlock Schedule: Points earned within a calendar month unlock on the 3rd Thursday of the following month, per official MSU Affiliate Program settlement schedules.

Redemption: A minimum of 100,000 Sprout Points is required to initiate a claim. Withdrawals are processed in multiples of 100,000 Points. Claims are processed in batches. Please allow an estimated 24 hours for claimed NESO to arrive in your linked wallet after submitting the claim. Gas fees are absorbed by MapleSprout.

Sprout Rewards Boost Rates: Boost rates only apply to purchases made during the active boost window.

Rate Changes & Program Availability: Reward rates, unlock schedules (3rd Thursday of the following month), and program availability are dictated by the official MSU affiliate program and are subject to change or termination at any time without notice. MapleSprout reserves the right to modify earn rates and all other program parameters at any time without prior notice.

Program Suspension/Termination: MapleSprout may suspend or permanently terminate the Sprout Rewards program at any time. Points not yet claimed at the time of termination may be forfeited.

Abuse Prevention: Any attempt to artificially inflate point earnings — including self-referrals, bot traffic, or wallet manipulation — will result in immediate account suspension and forfeiture of all accumulated points, consistent with MSU's own enforcement policy.

Beta Status: The Sprout Rewards program is in beta. Terms, mechanics, and availability are subject to significant change as the program matures.

12. Account Termination

By You: You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your account data will be removed, though some cached data may persist temporarily.

By Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, abuse of the Platform, or any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing other remedies.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of modified Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
