This Privacy Policy explains how MapleSprout ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email & Password: If you register with email, we store your email address and a securely hashed & encrypted password.
• Wallet Addresses: When you link your blockchain wallet, we store your public wallet address(es) to associate your characters with your account. This wallet will be permanently tied to your account.
• Profile Information: Username, display name, and avatar URL that you choose to set.

OAuth Provider Data

If you sign in using a third-party provider, we may receive:

• Google: Email address, name, and profile picture
• Discord: Username, email, and avatar
• Twitter/X: Username and profile picture

Information from Third Parties

• MSU API Data: We retrieve character information, equipment data, skills, guild membership, and other game-related data from the MapleStory Universe API using your wallet address.

Automatically Collected Information

• Session Data: IP address and user agent (browser/device info) for security and session management.
• Security Logs: Failed login attempts with associated email and IP address to prevent abuse.
• Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and general Platform interactions.

User-Generated Content

• Builds & Custom Items: Equipment configurations, builds, and custom items you create on the Platform.
• Saved Content: Items and builds you save from other users.
• Player Ratings & Guilds: Pre-defined ratings, tags, and third-party evidence URLs you submit about other players or receive from others. We also collect guild applications, roles, and related interactions.
• Unclaimed Wallet Data: Ratings and reviews directed at characters on an unclaimed wallet are securely stored and will be automatically associated with your account upon registration.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain our Platform services
• To display your character data and enable simulation features
• To enable leaderboards and ranking features
• To enable character search and discovery by other users
• To facilitate build and item sharing within the community
• To improve and optimize our Platform
• To communicate with you about updates or changes
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
• To send verification and password reset emails

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following circumstances:

• Public Character Data: Character information, stats, and rankings may be visible to other users through search, comparison, and leaderboard features. This includes your Looking For Guild (LFG) preferences such as your availability, timezone, and playstyle if you choose to list your character.
• User-Generated Content: Builds and custom items you create may be viewable and saveable by other users.
• Player Ratings: Ratings received are publicly visible and permanently attached to your account and character asset history. If a character is transferred, historical reviews are preserved but do not impact the new owner's score.
• Guild Hall: If you apply to or join a guild, your character, wallet information, and application status are shared with the respective Guild Leaders and Managers.
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights.
• Service Providers: With trusted third parties who help us operate our Platform (hosting, email delivery, etc.).

5. Third-Party OAuth Providers

When you authenticate using Google, Discord, or Twitter/X, your use of those services is governed by their respective privacy policies. We only receive and store the information described in Section 2. We do not have access to your passwords for these services.

6. Data from MapleStory Universe

Your in-game character data is retrieved from the MapleStory Universe API. This data is governed by NEXPACE's privacy policies and terms of service. We cache this data to improve performance and refresh it periodically. Cached character data may be retained even if you unlink your wallet.

7. Affiliate Rewards Program Data

Purchase Tracking: When you use MapleSprout affiliate links to access the MSU Marketplace, we store your wallet address, the affiliate session token, and purchase timestamps to calculate Sprout Points.

Points Ledger: We maintain an append-only ledger of your earned points, claim history, and unlock dates tied to your wallet address.

Data Sharing with MSU: To verify affiliate purchases, your wallet address and session data are transmitted to MSU's Affiliate Program data. MSU's privacy policy governs their handling of this data.

Unclaimed Wallet Tracking: If you earn points without a MapleSprout account, those points are stored against your wallet address only. Upon registration and wallet linking, they are automatically associated with your account.

Retention: Affiliate transaction records are retained for as long as the rewards program operates, plus a reasonable period for dispute resolution and financial reconciliation.

8. Data Retention

• Account Data: Retained until you delete your account.
• Session Data: Expires automatically and is periodically cleaned.
• Character Cache: Refreshed periodically and retained for performance optimization.
• Security Logs: Retained for a limited period to detect abuse patterns.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encrypted passwords, secure session management, and HTTPS encryption. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

10. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyze Platform usage. You can control cookie settings through your browser, though this may affect Platform functionality, particularly authentication.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Platform is not intended for persons under the age of 19. We do not knowingly collect personal information from persons under the age of 19. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

12. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
